Dr. Woodruff grew up in Indiana, attending Indiana University School of Medicine. She then moved onto Dallas, Texas, for a 5-year general surgery residency program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Health and Hospital System, graduating in 2008. Dr. Woodruff then completed a one-year fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She rejoined the faculty at UT Southwestern for 3 years as an endocrine surgeon. She has now relocated to Honolulu, and is currently Associate Professor of Surgery at John A. Burns School of Medicine, and has joined University Health Partners for her clinical practice in general and endocrine surgery. Dr. Woodruff is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and SAGES. Her primary interests are thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal diseases, including thyroid cancer, primary hyperparathyroidism, and adrenal nodules.
